What it runs

  • A restaurant, grocery or retail store through a planned utility shutoff
  • A medical or dental office, a small data room
  • A large event: several stages, vendors and lighting
  • A construction site with welders, a hoist and a dewatering pump

Not sure it is enough? Add up the loads with our sizing guide, or send us the list and we size it. A diesel run far below its rating for weeks wet-stacks, so bigger is not always safer.

Questions

How long does a 100 kW generator run on a tank?

About 26 hours at three-quarters load on its roughly 180-gallon tank (6.8 gallons an hour). At a lighter load it runs longer. For around-the-clock use we add refills or an external tank.

What does it take to tow a 100 kW generator?

It weighs about 8,500 lb with fuel and trailer — a 1-ton dually pickup. Most customers have it delivered; billing includes delivery and pickup.

Single-phase or three-phase?

Three-phase: 208 V (about 347 A) or 480 V (about 150 A). Your electrician sets it to match your service.

How much is a 100 kW generator rental?

From $650 a day, $1,700 a week or $4,200 for 4 weeks on one shift, plus delivery and fuel. You get one all-in price before you commit.
